Swertia obtusa merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Gentianaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim dingin (subalpin atau subarktik) dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Siberia hingga Xinjiang. Nama ilmiah Swertia obtusa diperkenalkan oleh Carl Friedrich von Ledebour pada tahun 1815.
