Symplocos lanata merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Symplocaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Puerto Rico tengah dan timur-tengah. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan nispero cimarron. Nama ilmiah Symplocos lanata pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Karl (Carl) Wilhelm Leopold Krug pada tahun 1892.
