Synsepalum dulcificum merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Sapotaceae (suku sawo-sawoan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di kawasan tropis Afrika barat dan barat-tengah. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan miraculous berry. Nama ilmiah Synsepalum dulcificum pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Heinrich Christian Friedrich Schumacher pada tahun 1852.
