Syzygium novoguineense merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Myrtaceae (suku jambu-jambuan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Papua. Nama ilmiah Syzygium novoguineense pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Elmer Drew Merrill pada tahun 1942.
