Syzygium occidentale merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Myrtaceae (suku jambu-jambuan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah India barat daya. Nama ilmiah Syzygium occidentale pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Thomas Fulton Bourdillon pada tahun 1976.
