Tectaria rara merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Polypodiaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Sumatra (Bangka). Nama ilmiah Tectaria rara diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Cornelis Rugier Willem Karel van Alderwerelt van Rosenburgh pada tahun 1934.
