Ternstroemia africana adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Pentaphylacaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Nigeria selatan hingga Angola barat laut. Nama ilmiah Ternstroemia africana pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Hans Melchior pada tahun 1924.
