Ternstroemia maltbya merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Pentaphylacaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko (Sinaloa hingga Nayarit). Nama ilmiah Ternstroemia maltbya diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Joseph Nelson Rose pada tahun 1899.
