Tetraria pygmaea merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Cyperaceae (suku teki-tekian). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan membentuk rimpang atau stolon. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Provinsi Cape. Nama ilmiah Tetraria pygmaea diperkenalkan oleh Margaret Rutherford Bryan Levyns pada tahun 1947.
