Thelocactus hexaedrophorus merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Cactaceae (suku kaktus-kaktusan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma gurun pasir atau sabana kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Meksiko timur laut (hingga Jalisco). Nama ilmiah Thelocactus hexaedrophorus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Charles Antoine Lemaire pada tahun 1922.
