Thelypodium brachycarpum merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Brassicaceae (suku sawi-sawian) yang memiliki siklus hidup dua musim (biennial). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Oregon hingga California. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan shortpod thelypody. Nama ilmiah Thelypodium brachycarpum diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama John Torrey pada tahun 1874.
