Thelypteris augescens adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan dari famili Aspleniaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Florida (Dade County), Meksiko (Coahuila, Quintana Roo), Amerika tengah, Bahama, Kuba, hingga Kepulauan Cayman (Grand Cayman). Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan abrupttip maiden fern. Nama ilmiah Thelypteris augescens diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Johann Heinrich Friedrich Link pada tahun 1922.
