Thermopsis chinensis merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah China tengah dan selatan, Nansei-shoto. Nama ilmiah Thermopsis chinensis pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis George Bentham pada tahun 1878.
