Thyrsacanthus secundus merupakan tumbuhan perdu dari famili Acanthaceae (suku jeruju-jerujuan). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan tumbuh memanjat. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Amerika Selatan bagian utara hingga Brazil bagian utara. Nama ilmiah Thyrsacanthus secundus pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Emery Clarence Leonard pada tahun 2010.
