Tradescantia petiolaris merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Commelinaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma gurun pasir atau sabana kering di wilayah Meksiko (Chihuahua). Nama ilmiah Tradescantia petiolaris diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Marcus Eugene Jones pada tahun 1908.
