Tricalysia capensis merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Rubiaceae (suku kopi-kopian). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Mozambique selatan hingga Afrika Selatan. Nama ilmiah Tricalysia capensis pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carl Daniel Friedrich Meissner pada tahun 1907.
