Tricholepis angustifolia merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di wilayah India barat daya. Nama ilmiah Tricholepis angustifolia pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Augustin Pyramus de Candolle pada tahun 1834.
