Trichomanes giganteum merupakan tumbuhan semak atau perdu dari famili Hymenophyllaceae yang memiliki pola tumbuh memanjat. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di kawasan tropis Afrika, Samudera Hindia bagian barat. Nama ilmiah Trichomanes giganteum pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Jean Baptiste Bory de Saint-Vincent pada tahun 1810.
