Trichosanthes ovigera merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Cucurbitaceae (suku labu-labuan) yang memiliki pola tumbuh memanjat. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah. Di Indonesia tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan nama areuy tiwuk (Sunda). Nama ilmiah Trichosanthes ovigera pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carl Ludwig Blume pada tahun 1826.
