Trichosanthes truncata merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Cucurbitaceae (suku labu-labuan) yang memiliki pola tumbuh memanjat. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah. Nama ilmiah Trichosanthes truncata pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Charles Baron Clarke pada tahun 1879.
