Trichostema laxum merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Lamiaceae (suku nilam-nilaman). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah California bagian barat laut. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan turpentine weed. Nama ilmiah Trichostema laxum pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Asa Gray pada tahun 1868.
