Trifolium argutum merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Mediterania timur. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan sharp-tooth clover. Nama ilmiah Trifolium argutum diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Joseph Banks pada tahun 1794.
