Trifolium badium merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Eropa timur-tengah dan selatan hingga Iran. Nama ilmiah Trifolium badium diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Johann Christian Daniel von Schreber pada tahun 1804.
