Tropaeolum azureum merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Tropaeolaceae yang memiliki kebiasaan membentuk umbi di bawah tanah (geofit) dan berpola tumbuh memanjat. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah Chili tengah. Nama ilmiah Tropaeolum azureum pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carlo Luigi Giuseppe Bertero pada tahun 1832.
