Typha capensis adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan dari famili Typhaceae yang dapat tumbuh di media yang tergenang air (helofit). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Uganda hingga Afrika Selatan. Nama ilmiah Typha capensis diperkenalkan oleh Paul Rohrbach pada tahun 1897.
