Typha orientalis adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan dari famili Typhaceae yang dapat tumbuh di media yang tergenang air (helofit). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Mongolia, Jepang, Filipina, hingga Australasia. Nama ilmiah Typha orientalis diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carl Borivoj Presl pada tahun 1851.
