Ulex australis adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Portugal tengah dan selatan hingga Spanyol barat daya. Nama ilmiah Ulex australis diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Simón de Roxas (Rojas) Clemente y Rubio pada tahun 1807.
