Ulex australis subsp. welwitschianus merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Portugal tengah dan selatan. Nama ilmiah Ulex australis subsp. welwitschianus diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Jules Émile Planchon pada tahun 1997.
