Ulex canescens merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Spanyol tenggara. Nama ilmiah Ulex canescens diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Johan Martin Christian Lange pada tahun 1865.
