Urochloa serrata merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Poaceae (suku rumput-rumputan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering di kawasan tropis Afrika dan Afrika Selatan. Nama ilmiah Urochloa serrata diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Carl Peter Thunberg pada tahun 2016.
