Urtica australis merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Urticaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah Selandia Baru. Nama ilmiah Urtica australis diperkenalkan oleh Joseph Dalton Hooker pada tahun 1844.
