Vallisneria rubra merupakan tumbuhan air (hidrofit) dari famili Hydrocharitaceae yang hidup menahun. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Australia barat laut. Nama ilmiah Vallisneria rubra pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Alfred Barton Rendle pada tahun 2008.
