Vellozia alutacea adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan perdu kecil dari famili Velloziaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Brazil hingga Bolivia. Nama ilmiah Vellozia alutacea diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Johann Baptist Emanuel Pohl pada tahun 1828.
