Vellozia squamata adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan berbentuk perdu atau pohon dari famili Velloziaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Brazil (Bahia hingga Mato Grosso). Nama ilmiah Vellozia squamata pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Johann Baptist Emanuel Pohl pada tahun 1828.
