Verbascum × thapsi merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Scrophulariaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah Eropa. Nama ilmiah Verbascum × thapsi pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carolus Linnaeus dalam Species Plantarum tahun 1763.
