Vernonanthura petiolaris merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari wilayah sepanjang Brazil tenggara dan selatan hingga Argentina (Misiones). Nama ilmiah Vernonanthura petiolaris diperkenalkan oleh Augustin Pyramus de Candolle pada tahun 1992.
