Vernonia hispidula merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari Madagaskar. Nama ilmiah Vernonia hispidula diperkenalkan oleh Emmanuel Drake del Castillo pada tahun 1900.
