Vernonia jaegeri merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Guinea hingga Sierra Leone. Nama ilmiah Vernonia jaegeri diperkenalkan oleh Charles Dennis Adams pada tahun 1964.
