Vicia ervilia adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan semusim atau dwimusim dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Mediterania hingga Asia tengah. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan blister vetch. Nama ilmiah Vicia ervilia pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carl Ludwig von Willdenow pada tahun 1802.
