Vigna frutescens subsp. kotschyi adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan menahun dari famili Fabaceae (suku polong-polongan). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan tumbuh memanjat. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Rep. Afrikan Tengah hingga Ethiopia. Nama ilmiah Vigna frutescens subsp. kotschyi pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Georg August Schweinfurth pada tahun 1970.
