Viola arvensis merupakan tumbuhan semusim dari famili Violaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Eropa, Siberia, Iran, Macaronesia, hingga Afrika barat laut. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan european field pansy. Nama ilmiah Viola arvensis pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Johan Andreas Murray pada tahun 1770.
