Viola umbraticola merupakan tumbuhan menahun dari famili Violaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah Meksiko. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan ponderosa violet. Nama ilmiah Viola umbraticola pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Carl Sigismund Kunth pada tahun 1823.
