Virola theiodora merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Myristicaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Kolombia tenggara hingga Venezuela dan Brazil bagian utara. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan virola. Nama ilmiah Virola theiodora pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Richard Spruce pada tahun 1897.
