Vitex patula merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk perdu dari famili Lamiaceae (suku nilam-nilaman). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis kering dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Mozambique hingga Limpopo. Nama ilmiah Vitex patula diperkenalkan oleh Eileen Adelaide Bruce pada tahun 1951.
