Vitis rupestris merupakan tumbuhan perdu dari famili Vitaceae (suku anggur-angguran). Spesies ini memiliki kebiasaan tumbuh memanjat. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim sedang di wilayah Amerika Serikat bagian timur-tengah dan tenggara. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan sand grape. Nama ilmiah Vitis rupestris pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis George Heinrich Adolf Scheele pada tahun 1848.
