Volutaria sinaica merupakan tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Afrika utara hingga Sahara dan Jazirah Arab. Nama ilmiah Volutaria sinaica diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Augustin Pyramus de Candolle pada tahun 1991.
