Xanthophyllum ellipticum merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Polygalaceae. Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Indo-China selatan hingga kawasan Malesia barat. Nama ilmiah Xanthophyllum ellipticum diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Pieter Willem Korthals pada tahun 1864.
