Xanthophytum fruticulosum merupakan tumbuhan perdu kecil dari famili Rubiaceae (suku kopi-kopian). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah dengan rentang sebaran mulai dari Sumatra bagian tenggara hingga Jawa barat dan Tengah. Nama ilmiah Xanthophytum fruticulosum pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Caspar Georg Carl Reinwardt pada tahun 1823.
