Xylorhiza cognata adalah salah satu spesies tumbuhan dari famili Asteraceae (suku aster-asteran). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim subtropis di wilayah California. Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan mecca woodyaster. Nama ilmiah Xylorhiza cognata diperkenalkan oleh seorang botanis bernama Harvey Monroe Hall pada tahun 1977.
