Zanthoxylum dipetalum var. tomentosum merupakan tumbuhan berbentuk pohon dari famili Rutaceae (suku jeruk-jerukan). Tumbuhan ini berasal dari bioma beriklim tropis basah di wilayah Kepulauan Hawaii (Hawaii, Maui barat). Dalam bahasa Inggris tumbuhan ini dikenal dengan sebutan kawa'u. Nama ilmiah Zanthoxylum dipetalum var. tomentosum pertama kali dipublikasikan oleh botanis Joseph Rock pada tahun 1913.
